Here is how to keep the brilliance of your Mayavé jewellery the way it was made.

At home — Our brand microfibre cloth is part of our packaging for most days, that helps in gently cleaning over the diamond and the setting around it. For the parts that catch dust or skin oils, a soft toothbrush with warm water and a drop of mild soap reaches where a cloth cannot.

What to keep it away from — Perfume, lotion, hairspray and harsh household cleaners all leave an invisible film that quietly dulls a diamond's brilliance over time. If your piece comes into contact with any of these, a quick rinse with water afterwards is enough to undo it.

When to take it off — Before the gym, before swimming, before washing dishes any moment involving impact or water is a moment to set your piece aside. A knock can loosen a diamond in its setting, and chlorine is unkind to gold over time.

Where it lives when it's not on you — A soft, lined pouch or box of its own. Diamonds are the hardest natural material there is which means a piece can scratch another piece of jewellery without either of you intending it. Give it its own space.
